The Kingpin Circuit Board Marquee is created from vintage video game circuit boards and a recycled promotional light box.
The front panel is formed by a Colecovision console circuit board flanked on each side by Nintendo NES circuit boards. An OMAX 55100 JetMachining Center water jet cutting machine was used to create the Kingpin cutout on the front panel. The light box's original fluorescent bulb was replaced with a 24 inch blacklight. A sheet of acrylic behind the front panel serves as a diffuser and gives the cutout a soft glow when ambient light is dim. The completed piece measures 27 1/2 inches long, 8 inches high, and 4 1/2 inches deep. It plugs into a standard 110VAC US power outlet.
This piece is one-of-a-kind and was sold in 2010 to raise funds for American Red Cross earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.
