The Color Orb is an audio-synchronized lamp that uses three LEDs (red, green, and blue) to create a spectacular combination of randomized colors that pulse brighter and dimmer in response to the pitch and rhythm of music or ambient sound.
This prototype uses a candle/cone-shape diffusing lens, but could be fit into many other embodiments. The design includes both a standard 1/8" stereo audio input, so users can connect their favorite music-playing device, and also a microphone input, which will detect ambient noise, talking, or music without the need for a physical, wired connection.
